At the STC Research Center's Tech Tour, students from Mid Sweden University's engineering programs had the opportunity to meet the center's researchers and learn about several ongoing research projects.

The students visited six different research labs and got to learn about different research projects. The goal was to give students an insight into opportunities available in the program and describing the type of research one can engage in if interested in pursuing a doctoral degree at Mid Sweden University.

Divided into different groups, students were able to learn more about the projects and ask questions.

"The reason I'm here today is to find out if I want to start working after I finished my degree, or if I would like to do a PhD," says Freja Lagg Jensen, student at electrical engineering.

The Tech Tour was also an opportunity for students to meet companies in the industry and learn more about the job opportunities available for engineering graduates. Mats Karlsson, business unit manager at Eurocon, was present to answer questions about the skills companies demand and the job prospects for students.

"It's a great advantage for us to meet the students. We want to engage and show what we have to offer as a workplace. Now, the focus is on the green transition, and an engineering education is a solid foundation. For us, it's also valuable if students want to do their thesis projects with us, and events like this provides an opportunity to make connections," he says.
