Oscar Berg is a new PhD-student in electronics at Mid Sweden University. His research will center on advancements in neural network implementation on constrained (IoT-)devices.

What is your background?

I hold a Master of Science degree from Germany, with a specialization in deep learning and embedded systems. My academic journey includes a double degree program spanning two years at TU Vienna and another two years in Sundsvall.

Why did you choose Mid Sweden University?

I chose Mid Sweden University for its strong reputation in cutting-edge research, particularly in mentioned areas. One significant factor in my decision was the university's collaboration with TU Vienna, offering a unique opportunity to blend expertise from both institutions.

This collaborative environment, coupled with state-of-the-art facilities, aligns perfectly with my academic and research goals.

What is going to be your focus during your PhD-studies?

I plan to conduct research at the intersection of deep learning and embedded systems, contributing to advancements in neural network implementation on constrained (IoT-)devices. My goal is to collaborate with the esteemed faculty, leveraging the university's resources to make practical contributions.

How has your time in Sundsvall been so far?
